Ships from all over the world sail by the IJmuiden harbour is running in full swing and the North pier of Wijk aan Zee shines in the sun. The Forteiland is a workplace with a view. And that view was also used in the past.
After all, the Forteiland is part of the Stelling van Amsterdam. This Defence Line was built around 1885 to defend the capital. Our Conference Fort is the biggest fort in the whole defence line.
Historic meeting rooms with modern facilities. The meeting rooms at the Conference Fort are fully equipped. There is wireless internet, a projector with a screen and sound, a flipchart, an Nespresso machine, and a fridge with soft drinks.
Forteiland IJmuiden is only a short half-hour drive from Amsterdam. Going to the island by boat, takes ten minutes. While you are on the island, our boat "De Fortwachter", is also on standby. For late comers and early departures. Or in the event of an emergency. It is not possible to spend the night on the island itself, but you can stay at the wonderful Leonardo Seaport beach hotel. The Fort Island is the ideal base for your event in IJmuiden aan Zee.
Quick break: a short refresher of 30 to 90 minutes. Wander through the fort and do quick and challenging tasks. Sometimes in a team, other times all by yourself. How about abseiling or a historical tour? Or archery or free fall, for example. This will boost your energy levels for the rest of the day.

Timetable
09:00 Boat trip to the Fort; The first adventure begins! You board in IJmuiden and arrive at the Fort Island 10 minutes later.
09:30 Reception on Fort Island; We welcome you with good coffee, tea, and some goodies.
10:00 Meeting; You put your heads together in one of our historic rooms.
12:30 Lunch; Good food is important! With a full stomach you can get back to work. This lunch is seasonal and fresh!
13:30 Meetings; Just a few final touches, working towards the conclusion, report, or presentation.
15:30 Active break; Time for a break. You have worked hard. Now get your blood pumping, let your brain work in a different way with our unique activities.
16:30 Drinks and closing; Whether you end the day together with drinks, a wine tasting, or dinner, it's all possible on the Fort Island.
17:30 Return trip to the mainland; Everything comes to an end, including this constructive, educational, and adventurous day. We'll sail back to the shore
